Growing up in South Texas on her parents cattle ranch and singing every Sunday in her grandfather’s nearby church helped Christine Mims build her dreams for a career in country music on a firm foundation.
Her very first singing audition resulted in her being chosen to perform in the "Music Country Music" show at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. She then won acclaim as the featured vocalist at the famous Bluebonnet Palace, also in San Antonio, where she opened for many national touring acts, including Merle Haggard and Tracy Byrd. During this time, the music directors at Opryland USA took notice of Christine’s talent and she was given the opportunity to perform in their productions in both Las Vegas and Nashville.
During her time in Nashville, Christine spent time working and recording demos for Tom T. Hall Enterprises, as well as lending her voice to many other music projects. You’ve probably heard her, whether you know it or not, in her vocal work in numerous recording sessions produced in Nashville and Texas.
It’s time you got to know Christine Mims. You’ll know her when you hear her voice, as she exposes deep feeling and tenderness to touch every emotion – a rare quality that carries the listener beyond all barriers. Her inspiring voice aptly conveys the extraordinary sincerity that leads to distinctive styling in every song.
In the realm of country music, where lyrical and musical simplicity is sometimes a forgotten rule, but still a revered concept, Christine’s songs and delivery easily please everyone. It’s her music, her voice, her style, her faith…her heart.

This is Christine Mims

"With her voice, her poise, her song selection and the invaluable aid of
Bobby Flores and the band, Christine Mims turns back the clock to the
glory days of country singers. And it's a turn for the best." Jim Beal

“Winner of the First Country Line CD Voters’ Poll”

The votes have all been counted and the winner of the very first Country Line Magazine CD listeners’ poll was the very talented, beautiful and versatile Christine Mims on the Yellow Rose label. It was a hotly contested poll with a lot of interest from listeners everywhere. One can see why she won after listening to the whole CD; this is a great collection of songs with that signature “Bobby Flores” sound, tasty arrangements without being overblown. Her voice fits comfortably with several styles of music from the classic country sound of “Under Your Spell” to the sultry jazz take on “Cry Me a River.” She can make a hard left so fast it will blind you. One can hear the shades of a gospel background in the soar of a verse or the bend of a word. I can almost see her leaning back to gather momentum for that next turn at the mike, to either roar like a lion or purr like a kitten. She can do it all. So, my friends, you have your first winner of the poll and a joy to listen to, so do yourself a favor and buy this CD today and you’ll see why she won. Check it out at www.christinemims.com.

Christine Mims is a young lady out of Texas with a great voice who just recorded her first album. It is a fantastic performance for a first album or any album. It was produced by young Texas music genius Bobby Flores for his Yellow Rose label and it is loaded with dynamite Swing and Texas dance hall music. Bobby is also heard of course on fiddle as well as electric guitar, rhythm guitar and violin in the string section.
This super album of 12 winning tunes opens up with the incredible title tune of the album from former George Strait rhythm guitar player and songsmith David Anthony. Christine then does the first of many wonderful Texas dance hall sounds Invitation from the Ray Price and Rex Allen music collections and the pen of Roger Miller. Also from this sound of music Christine gives us Hank Cochran's Don't Touch Me, Each Time from both the Ray Price pen and library Another Chance and Under Your Spell a Buck Owens composition and hit from over 40 years ago. Dallas Frazier wrote the swinging Ain't Had No Lovin and Carl Belew wrote and recorded another Texas dance hall styled gem Lonely Street. This one was covered by and became a major pop hit of Andy Williams in the late 1950s. Another of many highlights in this collection is two compositions of singer/songwriter Roger Brown. They are I've Had It With You and Say What's On Your Mind. The two remaining gems are Floyd Tillman's Cold Cold War and a remake of the Julie London classic Cry Me A River.
In addition to Bobby we can hear and enjoy other super musicians. The drums are played by Dan Dreeben, Phil Fisher and Jim Loessberg while the bass players are Allen "Conway" Chapman and Hamilton Price. Andy Langham and Randy Reinhard are the album piano players while Randy is also heard on steel guitar in addition to the album engineer and electric guitarist Tommy Detamore. The album also features Rene Saenz on sax and a string section.
This album can be obtained from Yellow Rose Records, PO Box 1526, Blanco, TX 78606 or at www.yellowroserecords.com The cost of the CD is $18, which includes postage and handling.
